Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is American Canadian singer and songwriter. There are more than 20 albums. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk music as well as alternative rock, but it is also influenced by hip hop, punk and jazz. Ani DiFranco has been widely acknowledged as the feminist's icon, and Grammy-winning performer, is regarded as the pioneer of DIY music. She was one of the first artists to start their own labels in 1990. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at an institution called the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was Italian descent and her mother hails from Montreal. Ani diFranco wrote and sang the track 32 Flavors. It is a track from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's 6th studio release. The song is featured in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate from 1999. In 2013 DiFranco apologised after the news that she was hosting 3 days of workshops at a former Louisiana plantation for slaves. The event was cancelled but she didn't show any regret. DiFranco apologized for her mistake a couple of days afterwards. Though she's most well-known as Little Folksinger, her music encompasses many different genres. The collaborators she has with her include Pete Seeger and Chuck D to Prince. She lives in New Orleans. Ani diFranco, and Kristen Ford are together. She began writing songs at the age of 14. She played them at caf s and bars through her teens. DiFranco was enrolled in lessons at Buffalo State College at age sixteen after having graduated from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. Ani's baritone was a custom Alvarez guitar that was made following several consultations with Chrys and an Alvarez representative for artists during the time.
